Background:
Rhiannon Lilah Malloy was born August 2, 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She was named after her grandmother's Rhiannon Muldoon-Malloy and Lilah Vecchio-Enrico. Her family moved to Baltimore, Maryland when she was a toddler after her father accepted a job transfer. The entire Malloy and Enrico clan slowly but surely followed Rhiannon's immediate family to Baltimore.

Rhiannon grew up in a stereotypical American household with an older brother and two parents. Her mother, born and raised in Italy in a rather large Italian family, grew her children up "The Italian Way" and made sure her children knew at least a little bit of the language. And considering some of Rhiannon's aunts never learned English, the Italian came in handy. Thanks to her mother and aunts, Rhiannon learned how to cook traditional Italian dishes and makes a mean Tiramisu cake. Rhiannon's father, on the other hand, came from a large Irish family. Never the best cook nor the best Gaelic speaker, Rhiannon never learned much about her Irish heritage. The only thing about the Malloy's that she learned was what Grandma Malloy referred to as "The Malloy Family Curse": No Malloy-born woman had been married in four generations.

Rhiannon endured heavy teasing as a child. Everything from her natural curls to her small height, Rhiannon's social life as a child was not pleasant. It wasn't until High school when Rhiannon began to make some friends. With a natural talent for Public Relations -- and a few nudges from her friends -- Rhiannon became heavily involved in Student Council activities while in High School. She was even elected Class President twice -- although she did run unopposed. Rhiannon's grades wouldn't have set the world on fire, but her resume with school involvement and a well written essay did earn her scholarships to several schools, including University of Maryland College Park and Villa Julie. But Rhiannon chose University of Maryland Baltimore County mainly for the fact they granted her a full scholarship.

Upon receiving a full scholarship to the UMBC, Rhiannon continued to pursue Public Relations and Communications. She became involved with the Student Government Association and was elected Vice-President her first semester. Then following Semester, she was elected President of the SGA, and continued to hold that position until she graduated.

Being told by several professors and Dean's that she was a natural leader, Rhiannon joined the Air Force upon graduation in hopes of homing in on her leadership skills. Rhiannon was accepted at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. Though her family did not like the idea that their little girl was joining the military, they respected her decision. Her father, however, was not completely pleased with his daughter's choice in occupation. The parent Rhiannon looked up to for guidance suddenly became the last person she really wanted to talk with. Military became taboo in the Malloy household and Rhiannon never discussed her work other then her mailing address with any member of the family.

While at the USAFA, Rhiannon became interested in Political Science. Once she graduated she began requesting positions where she dealt with Public Relations. Her first assignments were as Diplomatic Relation Officers. Her previous assignment was at the Pentagon, but her work has been classified. She did, however, work with fellow SGB Officer Lieutenant Grace Elizabeth Riley.

Rhiannon had been selected to join the secret Stargate Command located in Cheyenne Mountain in 2000. Rhiannon decided against it and chose to work at the Pentagon instead. Later that year, she passed up an opportunity to be assigned to Stargate Beta in Anchorage, Alaska to continue her duties at the Pentagon. Rhiannon was eventually assigned to Stargate Beta and joined in October of 2001. She had been under the impression she had been reassigned to a Weather Station and was pleasantly surprised at the cover story. Had she known the real function of SGB and the SGC, Rhiannon would not had accepted the position at the Pentagon. Rhiannon was assigned to Alpha Squad and eventually was promoted to Alpha's Second in Command.

In 2004, Rhiannon eloped with Don Eakins. They were married in Virginia, then returned to Alaska a few days later. Rhiannon resigned her commission with the Air Force, but was allowed to remain with Alpha Squad as a civilian.

Family:
Husband:
Donald Eakins

Parents:
William James Malloy (Father)
Evelina Aria Enrico-Malloy (Mother)

Brother:
MacKenzie Giorgio Malloy

Brother-in-law:
Ronald Lightfoot

Psychological Profile:
Malloy is a hard worker. Her attitude of, "If I don't do it myself, it won't get done correctly," is helpful, but sometimes she takes her work too seriously. Malloy needs to learn how to lean on other people for help. She believes that she can do it all herself with no help. Though she is improving in this area.

Malloy isn't afraid of new challenges. Nor is she afraid to tell people exactly what she thinks. She picks her battles carefully and observes the situation from all angles before making a decision. Malloy has seen little field combat and lacks experience. She tends to hesitate, but isn't afraid to pull the trigger.

Malloy is also a kind and considerate person with a great sense of humor. She tries to have a good time and always looks for the silver lining in every situation.

Malloy is a good leader, but I'm curious to know if perhaps she would be better suited for desk work rather then field combat.

ADDITIONAL - APRIL 2003: Due to a traumatic near-death experience while investigating a Mastaba in Egypt, Major Malloy has experienced unstable emotions. She had become quiet, darker and slightly more "moody" then normal.

It's also been brought to my attention that she may be romantically involved with Lt. Colonel Eakins, her Commanding Officer. To what degree is uncertain. They did take a trip to Montana together (along with Ron Lightfoot). There is no hard evidence of a relationship. But based on personal objective observations with both parties, it is possible that their relationship is more involved then mere friendship.

ADDITIONAL - MAY 2004:
It's in the best interest of Alpha Squad that Rhiannon Eakins be allowed to remain with the team. Although she is married to Alpha Squad's commanding officer, it is in my professional opinion that the Squad will run more efficiently if Mrs. Eakins remains a member.
