Service Record:
Served in Black Ops for eleven years, from the age of 21 to 32. Commanded his squad from the rank of Captain at 27.

Other assignments include Black Ops coordination at the Pentagon, a brief stint as a pilot during the Gulf War, and whilst recovering from injuries sustained in a plane crash, a tactician and strategist. Has been stationed on bases all over the world.

Background:
Jack was born the only child of well-off middle-class parents in New York, but had a horrendous upbringing. His father beat his mother regularly, and when Jack was 18 and in the middle of his Bachelor of Computer Science, his mother finally retaliated and killed his father. She was sentenced to life imprisonment and John joined the Air Force.
He was married at 21 to a woman he absolutely adored. But as fate would have it she died in a car wreck - he was driving and he has blamed himself ever since despite the fact it was the other driver's fault. He's barely ever looked at another woman since Marin's death, just thrown himself into his work and volunteered for every risky operation going.

His record in the USAF is astounding, which is why he was recommended to General MacKenzie while she was choosing her second in command. She was impressed to such an extent that she had no qualms whatsoever about appointing the former Black Ops man as her second in command of Stargate Beta.

When General MacKenzie retired, Jack was promoted to Brigadier General and assumed command of Area 111. Jack now resides in Alaska in his post as the Stargate Beta Site's Commanding Officer.

Psychological Profile:
Jack is a good officer and a great leader. His years in Black Ops have left him fortunately less mentally scarred than many of his teammates, and despite a lingering sadness over the loss of his wife, he has the makings of a prospective USAF general.
