Joined up as soon as he was old enough, completed basic training and after a
year on board a Navy aircraft carrier training as a pilot, he was recruited into
the Navy SEALS Program. Performed various covert operations at varying levels of
responsibility and leadership all over the world. Is now assigned to command the
Stargate Beta Covert Ops team from Area 111 in Alaska.

Background:
Emmanuel (or Manu, as he prefers to be called) was born in France in a small
apartment on the left bank of the Seine. His mother was French and his father an
American from New Orleans.
Soon after his birth Manu's mother died and his father, a colonel in the USAF,
took him over to the States to live with the rest of his family in the French
Quarter of New Orleans. There he grew up in a weird kind of atmosphere of
carnival and liberty yet at the same time in the midst of a devoutly Catholic
and military family.
Originally Manu thought he'd become a priest, but after some careful
consideration (and after getting involved with 'the wrong crowd' of kids heavily
into the occult, he changed his mind. (NB: Manu was *never* involved in anything
of the kind himself, but it was enough to sway him from joining the clergy and
join the military instead).
As soon as he was old enough Manu joined up with the Navy. He was hesitant and
first, not wanting to leave what was now essentially his hometown, except once
he'd joined up and moved away he realised how much he loved the Navy and getting
away from New Orleans.
Awhile after he enlisted, Manu was singled out to join the SEAL program. He got
through the training and made it his career, working as a SEAL. At the time his
transfer became official, he was looking forward to bringing his leadership and
technical skills to the Covert Ops team at the SGB.
Laforet commanded Kappa Squad for a number of
years. When Jack Elias was promoted to General and assumed command of Stargate
Beta, he asked Manu to be his second in command. Manu accepted, and was promoted
to second in command.
Psychological Profile:
Manu, as far as I can tell, is of sounds mind and even sounder body. Apparently
he spends a lot of his time in the gym - something to do with his job in the
SEALs no doubt, as he's very vocal about the need for SEALs to be in the best
physical shape possible. Seems like the perfect choice to run the Covert Ops
team. |
