Character Background:
Born to John and Kathy McDevon on September 11, 1967 in Alamogordo, NM. John Snr. retired at the rank of Colonel in 1979. He was a war hero from Vietnam winning Bronze Star, Silver Star, and Meritorious Service Award on top of others. Young John grew up in El Paso TX the site where his dad chose to retire.

He was an average student in grade school, with the exception of the fact that he excelled in languages. He lettered in wrestling three years in a row at 171-weight class. He Graduated Coronado HS 18th of 731 students. He was easily accepted to the academy where he began to excel in math and history. His hobby was studying the tactics of the Romans and British in combat. He especially centered on Indian tactics during the French and Indian War. He participated on the academy marksmanship team, winning the Armed Forces Award of Excellence three years in a row (the longest period that the AF has ever held that award). He was dubbed a master pistol- marksman his senior year and given the name of ACE because of his skill of being able to shoot any weapon with expert precision. He later Mastered in Guerrilla Warfare Theory through the Academy AFIT program.

Upon Graduation his history became classified need to know. He was posted around the world with the 13th SOW. Officers above him give exemplary remarks to his skills. Upon entry into the SGC he was a newly promoted Major placed as XO of SG-9. They were a part of many successful missions. SG-9 was disbanded several years later, after a tragic accident. He was reassigned to SG-6 and then immediately sent off-world for more training. He spent a year learning Jaffa combat tactics so that he would never be caught in a situation like he found himself in only months earlier. This training was intense and taught him skills that have served him well in his further escapades in gating. His new posting at Area 111 has brought new experiences and combat experience, which is still classified.

Personality Profile:
A good natured man who is always willing to fight for freedom, in whatever form necessary. He has a developed hate for the goa’uld. He isn’t very out going and at times seems rather introverted. He keeps his mind on task when on a mission and lets very few things distract him from this task, his secretive life has left him with a burden of confidentiality that causes him to be very leery
