Background:
The daughter of a father who is a smokejumper and a mother who is a ranger for the National Parks Service, Sidney grew up with a comfortable knowledge and appreciation of nature. Thanks to her parents' unconventional careers and moves to various parks across the US, she had a very interesting upbringing.

'Sid' did well in school and everything else she set her mind to, but her real talent lie in her passion for the outdoors. She took every opportunity to enjoy the rugged area around wherever home happened to be at the time, whether it be mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, or climbing rock walls and trees. It only seemed natural that these interests would spill over into her academic career as well.

While earning BS and MS degrees in forestry at Colorado State University, Sidney's academic endeavors earned her scholarship offers from several organizations, including Air Force ROTC. While she was still at CSU, she logged dozens of hours of search and rescue as well as man-hunt missions, often volunteering with the Colorado Ground Search and Rescue Teams. She entered the Air Force as a commissioned officer after graduating from the university and eventually went on to serve as an instructor of combat search and rescue, teaching techniques of water and ground search operations for downed aircraft and lost people.

Family:

Alyssa Kagen- mother

Psychological Profile:
Sidney is focused and observant, with a deeply contemplative nature that leads to her being very in tune with her surroundings. She possesses both an analytical and discerning mind that senses and sees things that most people miss. This young woman immediately and easily adjusts to her surroundings, whether that be setting aside the hurried mindset most have to adapt to the slower rhythms of the natural world, or navigating the fast paced and sometimes tense atmosphere of a big city.

Sidney is a self-professed 'adrenaline junkie' and claims that she was drawn to her line of work for the rush, but she really seems to be driven both by a feeling of responsibility for others and a great respect for nature. She is confident rather than careless, and although her actions may sometimes appear to be risky, she is usually not one to jump into a situation unprepared.
She has a tendency to be hard on herself and when her insecurities get the best of her, she is likely to fall under the dictates of her pride and hide behind defensive behavior. This proud and rebellious nature could lead to conflict if not approached correctly.
